Mental health is made up of our emotional, psychological and social well-being. In simple terms, it changes the way we think, feel and act. Being mentally healthy is important throughout all stages of life. Our mental health shapes the way we are able to cope with stressful situations, the way that we are able to communicate with others and our ability to make suitable choices.
There are many factors throughout our lives that may change our likelihood of acquiring a mental health disorder. These include, biological factors such are genetic make up, life experiences such as a traumatic experience and a family history of mental health problems.
