EMOTIONAL HEALTH

Emotional Health is defined as the ability to control emotions and express them appropriately and comfortably. Emotional health is one of the most important health aspects to maintain as a person’s emotions play a large part in everyday life. A lack of emotional health can impact the rest of your health in a negative way. Although emotional health is a vital health aspect, many people are not emotionally healthy; in fact, most people struggle to deal with their emotions every day.

Everyone is faced with problems and people deal with these situations in different ways, but those who are emotionally healthy often have the resilience and attitude to bounce back and move forward from hard times in their life, unlike those who are emotionally unhealthy.

People who are emotionally healthy often also have a better outlook on life and have a wide set of coping strategies to deal with their issues.

Emotionally healthy people are able to recognize when they are faced with challenges and know what strategies are best used in order to overcome their problems.

People who maintain good emotional health are commonly relaxed and open minded as they avoid judging others. This is because they treat people with the same respect that they feel they deserve for themselves. Emotionally healthy people are also able to accept their feelings and often feel comfort in getting the help they need to control them.

HOW TO STAY EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY

Optimism is a key part of emotional health and by finding the positives in everyday life, people are able to live with less stress and more enjoyment. It is important to remain optimistic even in the hardest situations to maintain good emotional health.

It is also important to have a good network of friends and family that can be relied on for support through hard times.
Exercising regularly can have great effects on your body both physically and mentally. By engaging in regular exercise your emotions are more likely to be positive and controllable.

One of the most important things you need in order to be emotionally healthy is self respect. Don’t put yourself down for the mistakes you make, instead use them as lessons to help you improve your life.
