Interview with a physiotherapist
Life Body Soul interviewed Amanda Robertson, a physiotherapist for the Bellerive Quay Health Hub. Amanda studied Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland.
What does your job involve?
My Job involves assessing and treating injuries or disorders especially relating to posture and movement.
Why did you want to become a physio?
I wanted to become a physio as I wanted to be able to help people move well and be healthy.
When should someone see a physio?
Someone should see a physio if they have a problem with joint or muscle pain or posture problems. Anything related to movement in particular.
Does your doctor have to refer you to a physio before you can book an appointment?
Your doctor does not have to refer you, patients can self-refer.
How many patients of yours have preventable injuries?
About half of problems are related to posture which is a preventable.
What would you suggest to anyone at risk of these injuries?
To anyone at risk of these injuries I would say work on posture, flexibility and keep moving!
